Romanticism :

1/Characterized by a heightened interest in nature, emphasis on the individual's expression of emotion and imagination, departure from the attitudes and forms of classicism, and rebellion against established social rules and conventions.

2/Romanticism emphasized the individual, the subjective, the irrational, the imaginative, the personal, the spontaneous, the emotional, the visionary, and the transcendental.

3/Romanticism is a reaction against the materialism of the enlightenment and rejects precepts of order, calm, harmony, balance, idealization, and rationality.
